4th Grade Supply List 2019-2020.docx
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Highview’s 4th grade students had the honor of presenting 6,500 “Believe” Letters to Macy’s for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Macy’s normally donates $1 to Make-A-Wish for every letter written but since we visited on National Believe Day, Macy’s doubles the donation for a total of $13,000 donated to Make-A-Wish. This truly demonstrates the power of kids helping kids and making wishes come true for those in need. We are so proud of all of our students for their caring and compassionate letters. This kind act demonstrates our word of the month for December, which is caring.
Thank you again to our fabulous PTA for the Holiday Boutique. Students love shopping for their families and it really puts those math skills to use when they have to work within a budget! We are so grateful to the PTA for their time and hard work. The PTA is also hosting “Family Movie Knight” on Wednesday, December 18th in the Miller gym at 6 pm. What a great way to take a break during this hectic time of year!
In the classroom, our students are hard at work developing their writing skills. Personal narratives are under way throughout the building. Please continue to encourage independent reading at home and plan ahead to have fun books to read over the Holiday Recess. Check out the Home & School Connection in the Digital Backpack for tips on being a “family of readers”. Be on the lookout for your child’s report card. You will find a copy in your child’s backpack and you can access it through the online portal.
Join us for the next PTA meeting at Miller on January 14, 2020 at 7:30 pm. Please continue to send in those Box Tops to help support the PTA. Don’t forget to check the Digital Backpack and the Nanuet Community Bulletin.
I wish everyone a joyful holiday season and a new year filled with good health and happiness! Take time to relax and enjoy family and friends.
Sincerely,
Nancy Bonner
